(Treaty 2 Territory, Anishinaabe Nation) – Ogichidaa McLean and the Ogimaag on behalf of the Anishinaabek Nation in Treaty 2 Territory sends a warm congratulations to Wabankwut Kinew. The 1st First Nations Premier in Canada. We are proud you have been elected in Manitoba, close to much of Treaty 2 Territory.

The historic official induction of Manitoba’s new Premier, Wabankwut Kinew takes place in Treaty 1 Territory – along with provincial cabinet ministers. We take time today to stand in solidarity with this historic event and accomplishment.

”The reconciliatory relationship between our Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty 2 Territory and the Province of Manitoba holds promise. And we lean on the sacred principle of Treaty, ”Asho ‘dii ‘maadiiwin ” as our Nation is set to deal with outstanding jurisdictional matters with a newly formed Manitoba government.
