Treaty 2 Territory Anishinaabek Nation Congratulates Our Own Cindy Woodhouse as the Newly Elected National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations.
Treaty 2 Territory – The Treaty 2 Territory Ogimaag are very proud to congratulate Cindy Woodhouse for being elected the Assembly of First Nations National Chief.
Hailing from Pinaymootang First Nation in Treaty 2 Territory and having grown up steeped In the values of just leadership, we know National Chief Woodhouse will continue to serve our Nations.
As a descendent of the 1871 Treaty 2 Signatory, AFN National Chief Woodhouse understands the significance of the Treaty Relationship. She has shown strong leadership as an advocate for her people within child welfare. She represented her people in a delegation to meet with Pope Francis in Rome to request an apology for the Catholic church’s role in the residential school system in Canada.
